Vault Hunters is a Minecraft modpack developed by the youtuber Iskall85 and his team. It conatins 148 mods and is an RPG style modpack. Vault Hunters is an open beta and currently in its 3rd edition. While vault hunters can be played as a standalone mod, the modpck makes for a much better experience. Although you will need to have at least 8GB of dedicated memory to run it.
Vault hunters starts out like regular Minecraft. You chop down a couple of trees and start mining. Its only when you aqquire chromatic steel that the game starts to change. Vault Hunters gives you a book of quests to complete with each one giving you a reward when completed. Once you complete the quest of aqquiring chromatic steel you can begin to craft a vault altar. The vault altar allow you to craft a vault cyrstal. These cyrstals allow you to run a vault. Vaults are a procedurally generated dimension in which you, loot chests, mine ores and fight mobs unique to Vault Hunters. Each vault starts out with a timer of 25 minutes in which you must complete the vault. The time can be modified by other things. Vaults get harder the more you level up. You level up by completing vaults or by eating vault burgers. There are differant types of vaults with differant objectives. I won't tell you what all of them do because it can be fun to figure it out for yourrself. If you do want to know about each type you can go to the wiki.
In Vault Hunters the goal is completing the artifact tome and defeating the final boss. There are 25 artifacts in total. You can get artifacts rarely by completing vaults. You can get duplicates so it can be hard to get them all. I will admit I don't know a lot about the end game stuff. I have yet to beat the mod myself as of writing this. However I have played the mod enough to know what I do. As with regular Minecraft you do not have to achieve the goal. You can probably just run as many vaults as you want and use the mods for their purposes
